ABOUT

Our vision is united, clear and simple; dream up community changing retail concepts and then bring them to life.

At McConaghy’s we have always thought far beyond the conventional way of looking at property development; instead of seeing bricks and mortar, we see fluid spaces that provide a backdrop for interaction. In turn, our role is to create captivating shopping experiences for our customers and thriving trade hubs for our tenants. From our environments stem inspiration, from our inspiration stems unique ideas, and from those ideas grow dynamic developments.

Our industry excellence is home grown; our people are fanatically dedicated to their craft, inspired by those who work alongside them and driven by the authentic relationships they forge with our business partners and the communities we touch. Our future is bright and our vision is clear; be exceptional together in the creation of outstanding modern retail destinations that serve our communities.

HISTORY

From our past comes our present, and from our present grows our future. Established in 1969, we’ve got 50 years of rich history fuelling our future.

McConaghy Properties and their portfolio of dynamic rural retail hubs are solid evidence that life is all about the people you encounter and the visions you bring to life with them. Our business began with a partnership between two cousins, Jim and Robert McConaghy; a meeting of two diverse minds, a collaboration between four hard-grafting hands, which catalysed a long chain of meaningful actions. Fifty years on, we’re a driving force in the Australian retail environment.

Since our inception, we’ve been a magnet for brilliant people, drawn together to positively influence the lives of the rural communities we touch. Yet, at our core has, and always will remain, a McConaghy. In 2004, J&R McConaghy as we were first known was demerged and McConaghy Properties was formed, a move that invited the next generation of McConaghy’s to step into the family business. A powerhouse father-son partnership between Jim and Gary McConaghy was to drive a new wave of achievements for the family business.

McConaghy Properties, as we are now known and loved, has almost tripled in size over the past decade, spurred on through leveraging acquisition and redevelopment as key growth strategies.

At McConaghy Properties we are as committed now as we were 50 years ago, to our vision of creating positive retail experiences, framing them within functional retail hubs, giving more back than we take and delivering community-changing facilities to our customers. Our business now owns and manages well over 100,000m2 of retail lease space.
