Gary McConaghy
Managing Director
As Managing Director, Gary is responsible for the future vision and direction of the McConaghy Family Corporation including the McConaghy Family Office and the family’s current and future investments.
Gary oversees all Governance requirements for McConaghy Properties and the McConaghy Family Office.
Prior to joining McConaghy Properties, Gary held senior development, design, and construction roles within Lendlease Australia. Gary joined McConaghy Properties in 2004 and worked alongside Jim McConaghy, the Chairman and Founder. After 10 years working across and leading every department within the business, Gary commenced in the role of CEO in 2014.
Glen McAnulty
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
As Chief Executive Officer, Glen is responsible for setting the strategic framework and direction of McConaghy Properties across the Funds Management, Investment Management, Asset
Management and Development Management platforms.
Glen joined McConaghy Properties in 2018 and has over 28 years’ experience specialising in Retail Asset and Development Management, with over 6 years’ experience in Asia, where he was responsible for a $1.5bn development pipeline.
He has worked for Fortune 500 companies, Tesco, and Las Vegas Sands Corp in Asia, as well as leading listed property and financial managers in Australia such as Gandel Asset Management, Mirvac and QIC.
Glen has gained extensive knowledge and understanding of the retail property industry having worked in master planning, development, leasing, centre management, asset management, investment, and funds management.
Glen is extremely well regarded within the property industry and is regularly asked to participate in industry panel sessions, keynote presentations and future-focused forums both domestically and internationally.
Glen has spearheaded the businesses property industry mentoring program and regularly mentors young property professionals and executives.
Glen is passionate about encouraging career growth within McConaghy Properties and supporting the team to deliver exceptional results across all disciplines.
Andrew Pheely
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
As Chief Operating Officer, Andrew is responsible for all aspects of the McConaghy Properties Asset Management function, including leasing, finance, property operations, capital expenditure, marketing, and people. Andrew has over 22 years’ experience in retail and project leasing having commenced his retail career with McConaghy Properties in 2002 as a Centre Manager and then moving into a Portfolio Leasing Manager role.
Andrew then spent 14 years with Scentre Group and held several senior positions, most recently as General Manager – Leasing and Retail Solutions. During his time at Scentre Group Andrew was responsible for the project leasing of some of Westfield’s largest retail developments, including Chermside, Carindale, Garden City and Northlakes. Andrew was responsible for developments that totalled over $2 billion in retail development. Each of these projects delivered upon their core KPI’s including leasing strategies, yield targets and ensuring that each retailer mix perfectly aligned with the market and trade areas these assets were designed for.
Andrew is recognised for his innovative approach to retail planning and precinct creation, having launched some of the most dynamic retail precincts within the Australian shopping Centre landscape, including Westfield Chermside’s Entertainment and Leisure precinct.
Andrews strong passion is using his leadership skills to build inclusive, diverse, and high performing teams who collectively seek to create value for customers, retailers, and investors. He believes people are the core of any business. He thrives to create an environment where passionate, talented, and innovative people can deliver excellence across all facets of Asset Management. Embedding a culture where individuals feel valued.
Bernard Roden
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
As CFO, Bernard is responsible for managing the Finance Teams’ of McConaghy Properties, the McConaghy Retail Property Fund along with the McConaghy Family Corporation. Bernard is integral in setting the strategic framework and annual Business Plans for these groups to ensure they deliver strong results and returns for our Investors. He has held senior finance positions with SCA, as Head of Property Finance, the Woolworths Group as National Finance Manager, along with senior roles at Stockland and Scentre Group. Bernard has extensive knowledge and understanding of property finance operations in the areas of Management, Leasing, Development and Construction sectors. Additionally, leading acquisitions due diligence, development feasibilities, identification of KPIs and analysis of the business.
Bernard is highly respected within the business and industry, inspiring success, encouraging personal development and career progression, and implementing sustainable management. He is personally motivated by being a valued business partner with senior management and mentoring financial and non-financial executives to understand the business drivers more fully.
Illiona Quek
GM FUNDS MANAGEMENT
Illiona joins us with a wealth of Fund Management experience, having most recently held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Blackoak Capital, with previous senior roles at Deloitte and PWC. Illiona will bring a great depth of experience and knowledge to this role and support us with our ongoing Fund growth strategy.
Michael Bolin
GM PROJECTS
As General Manager Projects, Michael has responsibility for the project delivery, development and capital works projects across the McConaghy Properties portfolio of assets. Joining McConaghy Properties in 2004, Michael and has over 20 years’ experience across all aspects of construction management, project delivery and development planning.
Michael has most recently delivered the $45 million redevelopment project at Castletown, Townsville and the $30 million redevelopment of Lismore Square. Michael is also responsible for asset master planning and project feasibility work across the portfolio.
Trent Dellit
GM CAPITAL TRANSACTIONS
After 15 years in Retail Leasing, most recently leading the Retail Leasing team within McConaghy Properties, Trent has transitioned to Capital Transactions at the beginning of 2023.
Trent has been part of the McConaghy family for over 9 years and brings with him a substantial understanding of the current portfolio. His previous experience with ASX listed companies; Federation Centres and Retail Food Group, have provided him with market leading knowledge of the majority of shopping centres within Queensland and New South Wales.
As GM Capital Transactions, Trent is responsible for managing the identification and analysis of potential asset acquisitions. Trent leads the capital transactions team and is responsible for all due diligence and financial modelling relating to assets. He has formed an in-depth knowledge of all sub-regional and convenience-based centres, with market leading knowledge of the both the QLD and NSW markets. Trent is able to identify assets with strong value add opportunities and concisely distil these insights into asset strategies that include leasing, retail planning, development potential, re-positioning, and remixing opportunities.
Trent is integral in identifying assets that will perfectly align with the return requirements of our Investors. He has developed exceptional relationships with both national retailers, national landlords and selling agents ensuring that he has an in-depth knowledge of the performance of key sub-regional and convenience assets and is able to identify institutional landlord divestment strategies, thus creating off market acquisition opportunities for our investors. He's personally motivated by being a valued member of the McConaghy Properties Management Team and mentoring our Property Economics internship program.
Louise Raymond
General Manager Investor Relations
As General Manager Investor Relations, Louise is responsible for the management of all Investor facing communications and engagement strategies for the McConaghy Properties Retail Property Fund along with overseeing the marketing and communications strategy of the McConaghy Properties retail portfolio.
Louise has over 20 years corporate communications and marketing experience, having held senior roles with Lendlease RE, The GPT Group as Head of Marketing, and most recently as General Manager Marketing and Communications at AMP Capital, overseeing the Australian and New Zealand Retail Portfolio. During her career in property Louise has been involved in the creation and delivery of asset brand and launch strategies for some of the largest retail assets in Australia including Pacific Fair, Melbourne Central, Highpoint, Karrinyup, and Indooroopilly. Louise has extensive experience in the retail property sector focused in the areas of investor communications, key stakeholder engagement including Fund Managers, National Retailers, asset brand and positioning strategies, asset development launch and stabilisation strategies and retail asset marketing strategies. She believes that successful asset management depends on a thorough understanding of the market, community and customers who engage with the asset.
Louise leads high performing teams who work in a collaborative and inclusive way to deliver exceptional results for the asset owners and investors, retail clients and customers.
Jason Martin
Regional Leasing Manager
As Regional Leasing Manager for the McConaghy Properties retail portfolio Jason is responsible for leasing management across all assets, this includes delivery of the asset retail plans, effectively managing lease expiry profiles, delivering the leasing budget for all centres and managing all national and local retailer relationships.
Jason has over a decade of leasing experience having worked with national landlords including QIC and Dexus.
During this time Jason was responsible for the strategic repositioning of over 15 regional assets throughout QLD and NSW, including Tweed City, Noosa Civic and Willows. This included development projects, asset repositioning projects with a total of 245 leasing deals being completed.
Jason joined the McConaghy Properties team over 5 years ago and during this time has been strategically involved with all assets within the current portfolio, including the repositioning of the Toowoomba assets, developments of Lismore Square and Castletown.
Most recently Jason was appointed to the role of Regional Leasing Manager with full portfolio leasing oversight and responsibility.
Mark Selvey
REGIONAL OPERATIONS MANAGER
Mark Selvey, being one of our newer team members comes to the McConaghy Family with many years in the retail sector. During his career Mark has been integral in forming Integrated Services business models and introducing them to the Shopping Centre environment. With a focus on Operations Management during major property redevelopments Mark played a key role as Operations Manager during an $50mil redevelopment of a boutique Marina anchored Shopping Centre on the Gold Coast followed by a $270mil landmark redevelopment at a Super Regional Shopping complex also located on the Gold Coast. As Regional Operations Manager at QIC for this Super Regional Asset along with other Major Regional Assets Mark has not only worked through these major redevelopment projects but has also been instrumental throughout the stabilisation phase of the assets. Rolling out multimillion dollar programs that include replacement of entire Fire Panel Systems, full installation of new CCTV Systems along with a focus on ESG Energy, Water and Waste reduction to make significant gains in NABERS rating improvements.
In Mark’s role with McConaghy Properties he provides technical support and leadership in the execution of capital expenditure, safety and risk management, ESG initiatives, asset management solutions and operational efficiencies that improves capital returns and mitigates risk.
Kate Cavanagh-McGill
MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
Kate has held the role of Digital Marketing and Communications Manager since 2021, and oversees asset marketing strategies and execution across the McConaghy Properties portfolio. With 7 years of experience across a variety of industries, Kate drives financial growth through collaborative marketing campaigns involving both retailers and property management. Kate’s expertise lies in analysing retailer performance, driving community engagement, and understanding customer trends. Kate was involved in the strategic repositioning and stabilisation of Castletown and Lismore Square centres following their 2022 developments. Kate's commitment to collaboration, team alignment, and community engagement continues to elevate brand presence and foster meaningful connections within the retail and property sectors. Kate has previously held marketing and communication roles at CBRE and Flight Centre Travel Group.
Kathy Michel
PEOPLE SUPPORT MANAGER
As People Support Manager, Kathy is responsible for the delivery of the McConaghy Properties people strategy, with a focus on talent identification, development and retention.
With almost 20 years’ experience in Human Resources and People and Culture, Kathy brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge in the area of people training and development. Kathy has previously held senior People and Talent roles for Savills, where she was integral in the development and delivery of leader capability programs, staff training programs and performance initiatives for their clients.
Kathy joined McConaghy Properties in 2019 and has been instrumental in the design and delivery of their People and Culture program and the introduction of their performance-based bonus program. These programs have been highly successful in cementing the strong culture at McConaghy Properties and have helped set the business up for future success with a team of skilled and motivated retail property experts.
Kathy is passionate about the growth and development of emerging leaders within the HR community and has partnered with LeadershipHQ to support aspiring young executives within the field of people and culture.
Sarah Van Hunnik
PROPERTY FINANCE MANAGER
Sarah has worked as Property Finance Manager at McConaghy Properties since 2019. Her roles oversees daily accounting, accounts processing, and financial reporting for the portfolio. Drawing from diverse experience at QIC in various roles, she brings a wealth of expertise to her current position.
Joe Zappala
FUND FINANCE MANAGER
Joe started with McConaghy Properties as a Corporate Accountant in 2021 before moving into the role of Fund Finance Manager. With a solid foundation as a Senior Investment Accountant at QIC and an auditor at KPMG, Joe brings extensive financial expertise and a proven track record to the team.
Kathy Langsford
Acting Regional portfolio manager
Katherine has over a decade of retail experience previously working for Dexus in Townsville establishing the centre as a destination that delivered a convenient and memorable retail experience while stabilising the asset across a 2.5 year $80m retail development launched across two phases. Joining McConaghy Properties over 5 years ago as the Centre Manager of Castletown, Katherine has focused on sales and traffic analysis to grow long term sustainable tenants, managing NPI to deliver a positive outcome for the client while ensuring a safe experience for all stakeholders and most recently managed the centre through a $45m development launched across two phases.
Most recently Katherine was appointed to the role of Acting Regional Centre Manager for the McConaghy Properties retail portfolio and is responsible for all centre management teams and responsibilities across all elements of asset management including delivering NPI individually and as a portfolio.
